REA is making an impressive impact on Saving Sight while Teaching A Man How to Fish with the on the job training program.
Already in 2019, the vision clinic has completed its first mission clinic seeing 125 patients for all aspects of vision care. The work is continuous, the local team operates 2 vison clinic per month, the clinic open 3 days per week, satellite clinics are developing.
This year we are merging REA’s 10+ 1 Eye Care Magazine with the Annual Fundraiser Gala.

REA Surgical Mission 2018

REA completed its Annual Surgical Mission 2018 in
two phases.
We had quite an international team from USA, Bahamas, Jamaica, Guyana & Haiti consisting of 3 Ophthalmologists, 3 Optometrists, 1 Optician, 3 Nurses, 5 Ophthalmic Technicians and 6 additional support personnels.
Phase 1: From the 13th to 21st of October,
28 surgeries performed with surgeon Dr. Purdy’s team from Indiana and Dr. Decastro’s Team from Port-au-Prince.
Phase 2: From the 8th to 15th of November,
19 surgeries performed by Dr. Decastro’s team from Port-au-Prince.
In addition to the cataract, ptygerium & eye trauma surgeries we performed comprehensive eye exams & treatment to an additional 250 patients providing medications, sunglasses, reading glasses and ordering prescription eyeglasses for most of the patients.

REA is thankful for a year ending that can be deemed a success in caring for the eyes of the Less Fortunate. Our Vision Clinic in Haiti is open 3 days per week with a local Haitian team led by Dr Jimmy Beausoleil.

Celebrating 11 years in the Mission Field, thank you to our visiting partners; congratulations to our Haiti local team; to L’Eglise de Dieu Reformee Hospital leaders & staff and to everyone reading this report; remember it takes each one of us to make another year of Helping People to See Clearly!

10 YEARS IN THE MISSION FIELD

February 3rd, 2018 Rhonda Eyes Alliance Inc. (REA)
Celebrated 10 years of caring for the less fortunate in the mission field.
The event was co-sponsored by the City of Miramar commissioner Darline Riggs. The event was a complete success, we had a full house with the City of Miramar Mayor Wayne Messam and the entire city commission in attendance.
Our Master of Ceremony was Jean willy Gerdes and our keynote speaker was Pastor Kenneth Duke of New Jerusalem Primitive Baptist Church. Opening prayer was pronounced by Pastor Deborah Swilley, “Let’s talk REA” segment was moderated by Pastor Joshua Swilley of Hope United Church. The entertaiment was by Strings & Steel featuring REA’s own board director “Lucky” and Eddy Martinez with special Sax performance by Dr. Patrick Jabouin
Big shout out to volunteers from out of town: Missionary Phyllis Newby, Kesnel Jean, Dr. Jimmy Beausoleil from Haiti - Dr. Anita Brown Dean from the Bahamas
